Scott Conroy is the creator and executive producer of “Blackout,” an 8-episode scripted podcast starring Rami Malek. Scott’s screenplay, “Analytica,” was optioned by Imagine Entertainment and was featured on the 2018 Black List. His limited series, “Trump: It Happened Here,” was optioned by Tomorrow Studios. Scott is also the co-creator and executive producer of the streaming TV series, “Embeds”—a Michael De Luca production. Before moving to Los Angeles to work in TV and film full time, he spent 11 years as a political journalist in Washington and New York. Scott is the author of the book, “Vote First Or Die” (PublicAffairs, 2017)—a vibrant, on-the-ground journey through the past, present, and future of the most eccentric and consequential institutions in American life: the New Hampshire presidential primary. He is also coauthor of the book, “Sarah From Alaska” (PublicAffairs, 2009), which chronicles Sarah Palin’s rise from obscurity to political superstardom and subsequent fall from power. He started his career in journalism at CBS News where he covered the 2008 presidential campaign as an embedded reporter on the Romney and Palin planes. He went on to become a national political reporter at RealClearPolitics where he reported on campaigns and elections around the country and served as a contributor to CBS News’ 2012 election coverage. He was then the senior political reporter for The Huffington Post where he created and directed “New Hampshire,” a seven-part original documentary series about the first-in-the-nation primary state, as well as “’16 And President,” in which he spent a day on the campaign trail alongside nine of the 2016 White House hopefuls.
