Joshua Allen, a native of Chicago, is a writer and co-executive producer on Fox’s Almost Family. He was previously a writer and producer on Fox’s Empire and CBS’s Hostages. As a playwright, he was the recipient of a New Voices/New York Fellowship from the Lark Play Development Center. His plays include The October Storm, Chrysalis, and The Last Pair of Earlies. His work has been developed at the Cape Cod Theater Project, Hudson Stage, Primary Stages, the Lark, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is also an alum of New Dramatists, the Ars Nova Play Group, and the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writer’s Group at Primary Stages. Joshua is a graduate of University of Southern California and the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at The Juilliard School.
